Description: This “hands-on” technical position will involve: • Leading the activities of the Engineering team • Participating in and managing technical projects • Developing Algorithms using Matlab and C++ • Software and Firmware implementation using various FPGA and DSP chip sets • Product development and design for manufacturing • Customer communications, sales support, technical training of staff as required • Preparing departmental budgets as necessary • Providing Engineering support to production by troubleshooting problems and effecting timely solutions • Participating in manufacturing process improvements • Monitoring and debugging new methods and procedures to ensure system efficiencies. Position Requirements include: • BS Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field • An advanced degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics is preferred with an emphasis on algorithm development in sonar systems or a related products • 10+ years of related work experience • Exceptional knowledge of digital signal processing and algorithm development processes using embedded processors/computers • Good technical knowledge of underwater acoustics • Substantial experience in leading a design team composed of electrical, mechanical, and software engineers • Good interpersonal and communication skills and the leadership skills necessary to align the goals of the design team with the goals of the SBU • Good working knowledge of electronics laboratory test equipment including: oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, function generators, logic analyzers, and DVMs. • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, including working aboard boats to test equipment • Must be a US Person We are an Equal Opportunity Employer
